Theme Park Investigator has just returned from a rather awesome four-day trip to Disneyland Paris. Whilst we were there, we managed to get some great photos of the progress over at the new Ratatouille attractions at the Walt Disney Studios Paris. It seems construction crews are working feverishly to get the area completed, with a number of facades and other details in place. So, enjoy our Ratatouille Construction Update!
The attraction is set to open this Summer, and will provide some much needed extra capacity for the small Park. Nestled between Toy Story Playland and the Catastrophe Canyon area of the Studio Tour, the new area is part of the Toon Studio part of the Park.
The attraction will utilize a trackless ride system, similar to Pooh’s Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland and Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland. The entrances to the land from Toon Studio and the Toy Story Playland are already in place, and it seems the new area will be amongst the most immaculately themed of all the areas of the Park.
The Park is infamous for its sparse theming and lack of Disney magic, which Imagineers have attempted to combat in recent years, with additions such as the Toon Studio expansion, as well as the addition of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, lending some additional placemaking to the Front Lot area of the Park, which is known for its limited facades and overall confused theme. Are you looking forward to the Ratatouille attraction? Let us know in the comments!
